Open since 2003, In Play is a family entertainment center with a variety of arcade and ticket games, a huge indoor playground, glow in the dark mini golf, a rock climbing wall, bear making, Webkinz and great food. They host birthday parties and corporate events, and offer families a place to play throughout the year. A family run business with 10-15 employees, In Play has two locations and a variety of roles that sometimes complicate staff scheduling.
Prior to ShiftPlanning, In Play relied on paper schedules and phone communication to plan and organize staff schedules. With constantly changing staff requirements, based on customer sign ups, schedules were often changed last minute complicating the process even further. Managers would spend far too much time scheduling staff for shifts, taking away from other responsibilities and duties.
Since switching to ShiftPlanning, In Play has cut down on the number of shift trade requests as employees are able to mark their own availability and communicating shift changes has become much more efficient with several communication methods available on the ShiftPlanning application. The total hours scheduled for the week listed beside each staff name has proved useful for managers to keep track of hours worked and ensure that they are dividing work hours evenly among staff.
I think everyone finds the schedule much easier now. -Talisa, In Play Inc.
